Faygo root beer is the nation's best
according to Bon Appetit magazine

Faygo root beer was named number one by Bon Appetit magazine. The September issue named Faygo's Root Beer the best in the nation. The magazine did a feature on the "newest restaurant drink trend," which is actually pretty old fashioned, and put Faygo's version ahead of Fritz's and Jackson Hole Soda Co,'s.
"Dry and crisp, with a frothy head, a good bite, and a long finish," is what the magazine said about the sweet pop brewed in the Motor City. The Faygo company was opened in 1907 in Detroit by Russian immigrants Ben and Perry Feigenson.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the original drink was called Sassafras Soda. The company changed the name to Root Beer in the late 1920s. The magazine's criteria for good root beer was not just flavor, but also health. "What sets these sodas apart is that they're caffeine-free and usually sweetened with cane sugar, not corn syrup," said Bon Appetit. "Think root beer returning to its roots."
